Installation art is a three dimensional work with the purpose of transforming a viewer’s perception of space. Installation really can involve any media or materials as long as they are three dimensional everyday objects can be involved in installation. Installation art is created to enhance the appearance of the room. The installation piece that I found most interesting is on page 257 in the text and is called Red Room by Louise Bourgeois.
I felt a connection with how the red spools in the work above enhanced the look of the room. I want to explore consumerism in my installation. I would like to use balloons. The location will be in a store.
My installation revolves around balloons in a public store. My basis for the installation was space and proportion. Installation is a very hard form of art to successfully complete. It looks pretty simple and can really be any and everywhere but it is hard to find the location and materials for a good installation project. Installations are almost to broad to try to create there is so many different possibilities one can do when creating an installation.
